Frequently Asked Questions
Should I get extensions?
You should get extensions if you are not happy with your hair and you’re looking to add great length to your hair. Extensions are great if you struggle with thin hair or hair that won’t grow past a certain length. We use 100% Remy human hair in all of our extensions to blend in with your natural hair. If you aren’t sure, schedule a consultation to learn more.
How to style extensions?
I always recommend using Remy 100% Human Hair so that it styles the same as your natural hair. High-quality hair makes styling a breeze! You can blow dry, flat iron, or curling iron as you normally would. I always recommend using professional styling products to assist with styling and heat protection.
How to cut extensions?
Hair extensions should only be cut by a stylist that specializes in extensions. Extensions are typically cut with razor with some fine detail done with scissors. A stylist that specializes in extensions will custom blend your extensions into your natural hair for a seamless blend.
Are hair extensions worth it?
Hair extensions are actual human hair extensions , synthetic is also available, but I would never recommend synthetic or synthetic blends. I only recommend using Remy 100% Human Hair.
Do hair extensions cause hair loss?
Hair extensions can be used to extend your natural hair or can to add volume. I only recommend using Remy 100% Human Hair.
What is the best way to store hair extensions?
Hair extensions should be stored in the package the came in.
How long does your hair have to be for extensions?
Extensions come in a wide variety of lengths, but hair can be custom ordered in any length.
How do you care for hair extensions?
You should use proper care techniques in regard to your extensions. Care for them with professional products recommended by your stylist. I recommend sleeping with your pulled up in a loose ponytail, and old-school scrunchies are the best! I tell my clients to go as long as possible in between washes to avoid over styling your extensions. High-quality extensions are human hair and should be treated with the same care as your natural hair.
Can you dye hair extensions?
100% human hair extensions can be colored but only by a professional. Extensions have been processed and tend to take color differently than natural hair, and you need to make sure an extension specialist colors them to avoid ruining the hair.
How to remove my hair extensions?
Depending on the method the removal is very different. I tips would need to have the beads opened with special pliers and the extension would fall out. K tips need a special solution applied to them, and special pliers are used to break up the bond gently, and the extension falls out. Removing tape-in extensions involves using a special solution applied to the adhesive and a special comb separates them and the extension slides right out. Wefts need to have the beads removed and the stitches released and then the weft comes right out. Extensions should only be removed by a licensed stylist.
What are the best hair extensions?
Different stylists will all give you different answers on this one and truthfully there are a lot of great companies out there but we all have our favorites. I personally love Donna Bella and Bellami. This hair doesn’t shed and holds up great month after month; both of them are 100% human Remy hair which means the hair’s cuticles are all in the same direction making the hair silky with no frizz; this hair is so unbelievably soft and shiny!
How to wash hair extensions?
Extensions should be washed less than natural hair. I try to get my clients in the habit of 2-3 times a week. I have my clients use Loreal Professional for shampoo and conditioner to keep their hair in optimal condition. When washing the hair, you rub the scalp gently, with no scrubbing, avoiding creating tangles. Conditioner is applied from the midshaft of hair to the ends, with no product on the roots. The hair is gently brushed with a special brush that your stylist should provide. Style as normal after heat protection is applied.
